My friend and I had a stellar afternoon here yesterday thanks to the La Ventana team, composed of Mynor, Paola, and Yesica, who helped make this unique dining experience memorable for us.

As soon as we came in we were welcomed and seated promptly.
After being served our drinks, our waiter recommended the Mi Tierra for the appetizer, which was delectable and made us eagerly anticipate what was next to come.

Next, I had the Bandeja Paisa and my friend had the Churrasaco, which received two thumbs up from him. The Bandeja was like a fuller version of the Mi Tierra and then some! I thought the white rice, red beans, steak, fried pork belly, and sweet plantains of the Bandeja went perfectly together and reminded me of why I love hispanic food.

For dessert, we shared the Krack Pie, a salted caramel pie with oat crust, and vanilla ice cream which was amazing and complemented the meal.

We had a great time at La Ventana and we can't wait to come back in the future!

I ordered from this place almost every day while I was here in South Beach, I loved it so much! Were y'all tired of seeing my cute face? I hope not. :)

The food is truly flame here. I recommend the empanadas - both beef and chicken are good, though the former was my favorite. Churrasco to die for, best on the SB strip. Came out tender every time, and with deliciously salty rice. I also had the patacones with steak, delicious! Could have done with a little less of the fried plantains though, I was sweatin' as it is in the Miami heat... (Is this what they call the South Beach diet?? That you're sweating so much you lose 20lb of water weight??)

The only thing that kept my overall experience from being a solid 5-star is the inconsistency in the food prep. Some days got chimichurri sauce, other days none... sometimes the sauce with the empanadas was spicy, other days bland... sometimes sauces were missing. Still, this is my favorite place to eat in South Beach - just make sure you ask for the sauces you want when you order takeout. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the Art Deco district!

Ventured out to La Ventana on Sunday night for dinner. It's South Beach, so of course there was no street parking to be found, but fortunately there's a garage right across the street which was convenient.

We were greeted right away by a few very sweet ladies and were seated inside. We had reservations for 7:00, which I would recommend since this place is teeny tiny and was totally full within an hour. However, what a cute and charming place it is!! Flowers hanging from the ceiling, and I loved the fact that they had a fan above each table to keep us cool.

Our server was very kind and always made sure we were happy throughout the evening. We started with a bottle of Chianti (which was a bit warmer than we typically like) and the ceviche appetizer. The server did let us know that it was a shrimp only ceviche, but we still decided to go with it. Although it was decent enough tasting, I felt underwhelmed by the dish. It had a pretty presentation, but we felt it needed more onion, more kick, more something. I'm so used to delicious Peruvian ceviche that I've had a few times in the last couple months, so this dish just left me feeling flat. For my entrée, I went with the Mojarra (whole fried fish). This was quite the experience, and a little bit of work to eat it, but it was an enjoyable fish! My friend got the pollo en salsa criolla. She said that while she wasn't blown away, it was pretty good. We finished off the meal with the guava cheesecake. This was, by far, the star of the show!! Amazing!!! I ate the entire slice myself!

Overall, we enjoyed our meal. The service and the cheesecake brought my rating up a whole star. South Beach can be tricky with food. There are so many over priced restaurants with below average food. I can say that La Ventana is very reasonably priced with some great Latin food options.

I came to South Beach with my friend and we found this great little spot downtown.

Right on Washington street in the heart of South Beach just blocks of the ocean lies an amazing Colombian restaurant La Ventana.

We were welcomed outside by the manager who when I phoned in need of directions of where to park saved me a parking spot out front! What I welcome I loved this place from the start!

Walking in I saw the restaurant was cosy with limited tables, something you would find in South America or Europe. This cosiness makes the dining experience intimate and I loved that, and the Colombian music. There were floral vines strewn from the ceiling and vintage pictures of Colombia on the walls.

Christina welcomed us at the door and she was our lovely waitress. She sat us down with the menus, utensils and plates set up on the table. Christina introduced herself to us and asked what we would like to drink and started us off with a Ceviche appetizer.

I chose the less sweet option of a Margarita $12.50 and my friend got the Strawberry Mojito $12.99. The drinks came right away and in really cute glassware! I especially loved my scull cup for the marg with salt on the rim ! There was fresh basil and a real piece of sugar cane in the Mojito.

The appetizer we chose the shrimp suviche and it was fresh tasting and one of the best ceviche's I have had! Fresh limes and shrimp with finely shaved red onion and fresh chopped cilantro on the top with a touch of yellow pepper cream. This ceviche was 15.99$ served on a floral vintage plate I loved it all! Worth it!

On to dinner. I asked a friend at work what to choose at a Colombian restaurant and he told me about the Bandeja Paisa. When I saw it on the menu I had to get it 19$ was a great deal.
I chose the Colombian sausage instead of the blood sausage that comes with the meal. Out came a perfectly cooked 10oz Strip-loin steak, sunny side up egg with a delicious sausage, fried pork belly, sweet plantain chunk, a perfect mound of rice, a bowl of red beans, and an avocado wedge all on the plate. What a feast! I couldn't eat this whole dish, and I did have to try my friends Churrasco and of course save room for dessert!

The Churrasco is a 10 oz Angus Skirt Steak with Chimichurri on the side, and comes with the perfect white rice, and a fresh green salad 24$
The steak had such great grilled flavor and came cut in about 10 or more slices of meat. My friend enjoyed every bite and I really liked that Churrasco myself yum!

For dessert my friend ordered the Cappuccino coffee that came with its own sugar, and I had to get the Crack Pie! I knew that name from Fireman Derek's bakery shop, and it was from Wynwood, I asked the manager and he said it was Fireman Derek's pie- I was excited!

The Crack pie 11$ has a sugar pie inside and a thin sugar coating shell, the crust tastes like oatmeal and is just delicious all around!! The pics came with a chocolate drizzle on the plate and a nice bowl of vanilla ice cream with melted in the South Beach summer but made a great dipping sauce for the pie, so good! Must try this pie will not disappoint hence the name - "Crack Pie"!

Christina thanked us for dining with her tonight and the manager gave us a goodbye handshake and cheek kids, and is really cute!

I definitely recommend La Ventana Colombian restaurant and had such a great night it made up for all the bad food I had elsewhere. Must try, it's worth the drive!!

Came here for food and drinks. As we were driving we called the restaurant  to  find out what the parking situation  was like and where exactly it was located, b because every store in that black is 710. We were told by the tattoo closest to the south corner (they have two tattoo places on that block). The gentleman on the phone stated that they had parking in the front and  he personally stood there so we could have a space. (BTW, it's street parking is ) when we got out he greeted us and welcomed us.

We the starwberry mojito and the classic margarita.  Because the lighting at the bar is a little dark on the romantic side, my pictures did not come out as pretty as the presentation of the food.
each drink was not just different taste, but it also came in different and unique glasses. The mojito came in a tall glass, while the margarita came out in like a colorful mug (see pics for details.)

The waitress recommend some food and after tasting both the churrasco and la bandeja Paisa, she was not kidding about the amazingly flavor of the food. Each bite was better than the last. The rice was so flavorful.
The churrasco came with the meat, rice and some greens. The Bandeja had a little of everything. The Bandeja, in my opinion, was the best plate simply because it had so many different items to eat. So when i go back again. I will order that.

For dessert we had a capucino, which came on with a little cookie and it was on point. For dessert we shared the piece of sugar cookie slice with vanilla ice cream. It was VERY good and extremely filling.

As far as the noise level, it was typical volume, not too loud to allow everyone to speak and be heard.

The place is small and quaint, the dining room has low lighting. The bar area is on the other side of the house close ntrace entrance and is more lit and has about the same amount of hight top seats to sit comfortably.

I will def be back here, both the food and service was phenomenal.
They take reservations and you also get a free non alcoholic drink with your yelp check in..yay!!!
